Phew!! With that ending I can still be hopelessly in love with Brooke Blaine’s words. She brought all the emotions, so much so that my heart was full to bursting by the end.
Ollie and Reid, who I have name Rollie because I adore them, are just EVERY-FREAKING-THING. I love them as individuals. I love them as a couple. They are great as people, and yet so much better together. I adore them. You need to meet them. You will not be able to resist their charm.
Alright, this story is not as angsty as you would expect. There is still hard times a plenty, but this story is so much about love really being able to defeat the odds. I think it is why I loved it. Reid and Ollie are about the chemistry, that electricity you feel with another person. It isn’t logical, it is chemical, felt deep in your bones & completely inexplicable. What solidified my complete infatuation with this duet is when the theme of people fall in love with people is presented. Just like that, I want to thrust this book into everyone’s hands because that is the TRUTH! In a world defined my gender and sexual orientation, this couple, one in particular (it would be a spoiler if I told you who), shows us that it doesn’t matter. What matters is the feelings, the soul recognize itself in another, the support, the companionship...gah! I could go on forever.
This duet is perfection. It exemplifies love in its purest form, what humans long for, crave, desire, and it shows the importance of acceptance, something we all need a bit of today. Brooke Blaine already had my reading heart, but she locked up tight with is one.
