The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory: American Evangelicals in an Age of Extremism by Tim Alberta

2.0

I was interested in learning why the Evangelicals would seem to go against everything they believe in and support Trump. That is not what I got with this book. It felt like the author was trying to convince you that it was the fault of the leaders in the church who were leading the people astray but there were a lot of examples where they church leaders were giving their people what they wanted. I'm not sure he was successful in selling the idea that the average Christian is not a terrible, hateful, hypocrite. He starts the book off with how terrible his father's own parishioners acted towards him at his dad's funeral!! If anything I came away from this thinking worse of Evangelicals than when I went in.
