Sleeping Arrangements by Madeleine Wickham
Did not finish book.
DNF. I didn't like it, had few redeeming qualities and I already know what happened at the end so there really is no need to carry on.
-I didn't like the nonchalant attitude to cheating and destroying a marriage/partnership.
-I couldn't understand that the cheating happened mainly because of lust, but led to serious questions about destroying a marriage/partnership.
-I couldn't understand how just because an old lover comes back into one's life, a grown individual is able to throw away or contemplate throwing away his current life. You have kids, a partner. And you want to throw it away for someone who is certainly not the same person they used to be. It was lust, not love. There was no conversation about the past, or laughs about shared histories- so I really couldn't get behind it. It was all sensual ;) And best forgotten. Not the book for me at all!
-I listened to this as an audio-book which made it more bearable.
