Ward D by Freida McFadden
4.0
As an admirer of Frieda McFadden, this book was slightly (or, maybe quite a lot) disappointing to me. The story seemed way too repetitive in the 3/4th part of it, like, there were so many paragraphs that were so unnecessary, almost dispensable. Nonetheless, it's easy to carry on reading because of the short chapters and uncomplicated language. Although at times it did seem not more exquisite than a Wattpad teen-story, the twists around the end just kept getting more shocking and unexpected. Each time I thought I had predicted it all, I was proven wrong eventually. So, with all its deficiencies and imperfect nature, it was a quick read which was at the same time disturbing and entertaining (works well for a thriller I guess?) But having already read her 5 books, this just seemed kinda poor compared to the rest. Considering this was one of her earlier works, that too make sense.
And, trigger warnings ⚠️: gore, horror, deaths
