Emily starts out on a bad date, and as soon as she could escape that she did. That’s how she meets Whip. They get talking and end up spending the night together. When Emily awakes, she sees Whip’s firefighter uniform, freaks out, and gets out asap. If Whip is a firefighter, that means he works for Emily’s dad.

At a firefighter event, that’s when Whip finds out who Emily is. There beside his Chief, is none other than Emily, his daughter. As this starts out being a problem, they get over that issue pretty quickly. But with Emily’s job, small town gossip, and Whip’s dad in the way, Whip and Emily have some hurdles to work through.

Overall, I liked this. There is a section where miscommunication or lack of communication comes into play, and that is a pet peeve. It’s resolved quickly but still. Ugh! Then there is another pending issue, about Whip’s mom..at this point is unresolved but since this is a series, I’m thinking it may continue throughout the whole series, as it would affect all the siblings. Good start to the series.
