A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor by Hank Green
5.0
That unknown is a diamond in a universe of dirt. Uncertainty. Unpredictability. It is when you turn your emotions into art. It is BTS and the Sistine Chapel and Rumi's poetry and Ross Geller on the stairs yelling, 'Pivot.' Every creation great and small, they are our diamonds.
the above quote is the reason i started this series, and when i finally reached the moment it was said i really did cry. idk, there is something so beautiful to me about seeing the world as the work of art that it is, even amongst all the the things that make existence so completely unartistic.
as two separate books, each would be like 4/4.5 stars. but together? this duology was magical. i loved everything about it. it was clever, well thought out, funny, and honest. it genuinely made me think. it felt like if doctor who, tumblr culture, & young adult lit made a baby, and as a person who was built into existence by consuming those things, it resonated a lot with me. i can also say that i prefer, without a doubt, hank green's books to john green's books. i would truly reccommend this to everyone, i had so much fun reading it.
