Love After Tragedy
This was a good forced proximity, hurt/comfort, strangers to lovers story.
Drew and Ash were imprisoned by the same warlocks for who knows what (bc I didn’t read Calder and Jacob’s book first…whoopsie!) and Drew (along with the other two and a fairy) help Ash escape. Ash immediately feels safe with Drew from the beginning, and it’s clear that Drew is drawn to him as well.
It was really heartbreaking what they did to both of them. Ash has severely diminished senses and Drew has enhanced alpha magic. Ash handles his torture and deficits as best he can while helping Drew as he slowly spirals out of control.
I loved that these two were able to be each other’s tethers when without one another their lives surely would have fallen apart. And that they had a connection from the beginning and developed a mate bond from their shared tragedy.
This won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. I’m glad I read this and experienced it for myself.
