This was the second romance book I ever read that I felt represented by any characters and with realistic portrayals of dealing with trauma and grief while learning how to take care of and stand up for yourself while navigating your changing identity and polyamorus relationships. Normally I'm not really into explicit/graphic sex scenes in books but the love and care between the MCs was at the forefront and carried me through. Having a kinky educator for an MC ended up being a brilliant way to give information about kink/sex/polyamory that didn't feel like unnecessary exposition while making sure the reader had necessary knowledge. This is at the top of my list for romance recommendations.
