A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett

hopeful inspiring slow-paced

4.0

A charming story of resilience, grief and hope. Sara Crewe gives everyone a lesson in behaving kindly to everyone no matter their status or condition. I love how Frances Hodgson Burnett creates this tangible space where children can marvel at the story and find a heroine they like, and adults can find valuable lessons and comfort in her stories. The audiobook read by Elizabeth Klett is such a nice experience.
However, the historical context of this era must not be forgotten or forgiven, as it paints things with a whole other layer of meaning.
