Dog Blood by David Moody
4.0
My initial concerns with this storyline remain, but I'm still enjoying the books. They are quick and entertaining reads. My concern is with the fact that the protagonist is part of a group comprising roughly 1/3 of the human population and that is obsessed with eradicating the other 2/3's. Although the Haters claim that they must kill non-Haters as a matter of self-preservation, it was the Haters who initiated violence once they changed into Haters. Even at the present point in the story, Haters who can control their rage are able to walk among non-Haters and not be recognized for what they are; only Haters can differentiate between Haters and non-Haters. This again reinforces the concept that if it wasn't for the aggression of the Haters, both groups could coexist just fine. We'll see whether the final book addresses this issue or not.
