2023's ATY in 52 books: 21. A book by an Asian diaspora author
Format: Audiobook

I didn't realize this was a post-apocalyptic novel, that's my own fault, so I was going to round it up to 3 stars, but I didn't because it's not a 3 star book In my opinion.

The premise is very intriguing and fascinating: people all over the world are losing their shadows, and with them, their memories, and gaining the power to bring to life whatever they imagine. The problem is they start to forget who they are, their loved ones, and even how to speak.

The problem for me is that I get super bored with the post-apocalyptic setting, and the premise alone couldn't make me care. This is also too long and gets very convoluted towards the end.

I don't recommend it
