“She’s the perfect shot. And the perfect shot isn’t about something being flawless, it’s about the truth. She’s the truth to me. Clarity. The world is doable when she is near me.”

This book is one of the best books I have ever read – it included so much emotion and passion while being funny and light hearted. How can you not love a book like this one? As a black girl this is another book that made me feel seen and heard. I had put this book on hold for what seems like forever and that truly sucks on my part honestly. But not I hold it towards me from fear of it running away from me.

“I don’t want to give myself to someone who doesn’t know what to do with me. I…don’t want to lose myself.”

Malakai (Kai) is a national treasure to the world and should have a statue created to show just how great he is. This man literally read her favorite book after she had mentioned it. This is just one thing that he did that made him so amazing but there are so many more other things! I knew immediately that this was gonna be a good book – I went into this blindly and I’m so glad I did because uncovering things about this book on my own was AMAZING! LET THE WATER WORKS BEGIN!

“What you need me to do?” – “Kiss me.”
