I’mma be real honest. This book was not written with me as its intended audience. I like dark romance. Truly. This one was light on the romance and heavy on brutality and possession. That’s not really my jam and that’s on me.

The book starts off with Violet in a car with her boyfriend, Liam. He’s driving them to his fraternity’s party at a cabin in the woods. He stops to ask a man on the side of the road if he needs a ride. The man has a mask on, but the party is called Valentine’s Massacre, so it makes sense.

It doesn’t take long for everything to go topsy-turvy though. The masked man is obsessed with Violet.

I will say it is a compelling story. I wanted to know what was going to happen next as there is a mystery tying everything together. I was definitely more into the mystery aspect than the “romance.”

Also, I’m going to read the next one. I’m intrigued by the bits we saw of the next couple.
