I really liked the book - until they got together. The yearning and pining was delicious - although it bothered me a bit in the beginning that the pining was purely physical at first. They barely talked to each other. Luckily there was time for them to get to know each other through texting after a bit.
But... the instalove trope which I don't generally like at all dropped the rating for me. Their relation ship was too U-haul stereotype for me to truly like the story in the end. Why couldn't it take the whole summer, why everything had to happen within a week?
And it really bothered me that Larison was like 24/25 years old and had raised a kid, gone to college and almost finished graduate school as a single parent straight after highschool. It's just too unrealistic for me to really invest in the story. She could have been like 3-4 years older and gotten pregnant senior year of college or something. But Larison's age was set because she was Sophie's childhood friend and Sophie was introduced in the previous book. Unrealistic ages/timelines is my pet peeve.
