Crimson River by Devney Perry
4.0
This one starts out a little dark when Lyla upon the urging of her sister decides to take a break from being a workaholic. While on her hike she is attacked, police do an investigation but within days calls off the search. Vance blows into town on a hunch this is the man he is hunting.
In typical Perry style, this is a man with a whole lot of baggage and Lyla is the female he is instantly attracted to, so he is conflicted with finding this criminal and she is recovering from the trauma of the attack. After learning why he is here, they try to fight their atrraction and fail horribly.
This does have a great plot and throughout we learn all about Vance's baggage, Lyla learns to trust again and all ends well. ( well almost)
