I liked this less than the 1st one. Once again, it was just quite basic and I was hoping to connect to the characters more but that just didn’t happen. The plot was a little boring for most of it, but the ending was unexpected and was definitely interesting, but unfortunately the book as a whole wasn’t good enough for me to want to continue the series.

I also felt like the romance was super lacking in this. The author tried to keep the romance interesting by adding a second love interest, but for me it just ruined the existing romance. I just couldn’t see their chemistry anymore, and the spice scenes just didn’t add anything to the story and should have been improved or cut out.
