Riptide: the Complete Series by Beth Bolden

5.0

(ARC Review)

I really enjoyed The Riptide Series by [a:Beth Bolden|8137900|Beth Bolden|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1397886875p2/8137900.jpg]. The first book is called The Rivalry and it's about Heath and Sam, the second one is called Rough Contact and it's about Neal and Jamie, and the last one is The Red Zone and it's about Alec and Spencer. All the protagonists appear in all three books and even in other series like Food Truck Warriors (which I started after finishing this series!)

I've read many mm books related to sports. This is one of my favorite tropes, but not many related to football because... I don't get it! But I must say that this series is so well written and well developed, that despite "not understanding" the game, I was able to easily follow the stories and also understand some of the problems that the main characters suffer from, or what causes them. and why they act in a certain way.

All three books talk about dealing with mental issues, whether it be depression, anxiety, or even some kind of internal homophobia, within a game that is brutal and extremely masculine, and how to begin to accept yourself and others. Understand that we are all different and unique, but at the same time equal, and that we have the same right to be happy as anyone else.

And of course all three are quite steamy, and the dialogues are well balanced between the right amount of angst and fun.

Highly recommended.

I received I received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
