The commentary on transgender rights and intersectionality is important. And that makes the book worth reading. 

However, I didn’t like the writing style and I didn’t enjoy the main characters. I wished that the story was told through the point of view of Theo, especially since the plot centered around them.

But the book has a very important message to share, so 3 stars.
