This book was written in a way I just love. The banter, the romance, the fae, vampires, learning about alchemists, the way tattoos end up on the body and ONYX! My love for Carrion really grew at the end, knew he had a special place in the book but couldn't quite put my finger on it. The way that the fighting came into play at the end instead of being intertwined with the getting familiar with the characters and romance throughout the book really worked. Because of that I have a feeling that the next book it will be more intertwined with fighting, Saeris really learning all she can do as an alchemist, Onyx will be the best fox there ever has been and Kingfisher being even more sarcastic.

My book is just marked up with things that made me giggle, swoon or were just damn important.

“Because she is moonlight. The mist that shrouds the mountains. The bite of electricity in the air before a storm. The smoke that rolls across a battlefield before the killing starts. You have no idea what she is. What she could be. You should call her Majesty.”
