Twisted Palace by Erin Watt
1.0
Don't you hate it when something falls apart at the very last minute?
That's is exactly how I felt about this book.
Everything was going great at first but went downhill soon after. The first 2/3 of this book is just filler really. Ella has regressed as a character and become literally a horny, annoying, dumb, catty protagonist. I was rooting for you Ella, but legit she basically complaining about how she hates having her father back, how much she wants to bone Reed, and finally how hard it will be for her to part from Reed.
So yea, Ella's character became irrelevant and trash. Then we have Reed. The moment you begin to think about Reed in a critical sense you realize how problematic he is. He is overly territorial, and he is dangerously violent. So yea, now matter how Watt forces you to like him, I was like nah bro. Then let's talk about their relationship or lack of. This was a purely physical relationship which shouldn't surprise you at all since this is New Adult. Easton spouts so many inappropriate sexual jokes that one are not funny and borderline offensive. Wade and Val were cool. I enjoyed them, but we didn't see too much of them. Callum is a joke. And steve ugh.
The plot was all over the place with everything happening in the last 40 pages. It was predictable and executed so poorly. Too many problematic things were glossed over leaving me with a sharp distaste of this book and series. The murderer' identity and the father of the child's reveals were shit. So fucking predictable and cheap. There is no buildup at all. It is just dropped out of nowhere.
Even the marketing of these series is way off. "The royals will ruin you". Over dramatic much? Ella is living it up with the royals, so how are they ruining her?
Shame on you Watt. I was rooting for this series. I read these book back to back, but like your Off Campus series you ultimately let me down. Addicting, but utter trash. Next
