Trigger warning for this book: PTSD, subtle mentions of rape

I should give this book 4 stars, but the ending was so spectacular that I can't give anything less than 5.

I went through most of it hating Noam, thinking Sir weak and muttering under my breath that Theron was an idealistic idiot. Well I was right in hating Noam and thinking Sir needs to start fighting... but how wrong was I about Theron... He is an idealistic idiot, but it's so much worse than that.

There was way too much politics involved in this book for my taste. Meira acting like a good little queen going from kingdom to kingdom was a bit boring and her way of trying to find the best things to say to this and that royal was too out of character. She's just not that kind of person

I was rooting for Mather so hard and it took so long to get so little! I'm still rooting for him because Theron is the worst choice she could ever make so let's forget there was ever anything there and get back to regular programming of Meira and Mather getting together already!!!!!
