A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce

5.0

This book is straight cash. I can't add anything new to what has been said, but this is a window into Joyce's own struggles with the Irish Catholic church and trying to figure out how to lead his life. There's a lot less about his art than I would have thought, but his artistic philosophies do permeate into his ways of thinking. This is an exploration of the impact of religion on upbringing.
