Holy smokes this was bad. I had read the first 4 chapters and stopped because the writing was clunky. There was a ton of telling not showing and well the characters sucked. I picked it back up and got this far because it’s a book club selection but fuck that. I’m a hater and I can’t handle anymore barking laughs, biting of inside of cheeks, creepy “darling” pet names, daddy issues, and hunger game knock off vibes. Save yourselves and avoid this one.
