So many twists and turns! My brain was spinning as I read this book, constantly trying to unravel the truth about the tragic story of Hope and her family. I loved this chain of events that left me barely able to catch my breath between chapters.

Hope is a very strong woman. Despite the immense tragedy that has marked her life—and the potential betrayal involved—she has managed to hold it together. She’s brilliant, independent and more than capable of standing up for herself. But there is one man she finds difficult to fight back against: Sean Slone, the man who stole her heart in more ways than one nearly ten years ago. The silver fox has never been able to forget the woman he fell in love with so many years ago, even though he was convinced he would never see her again. Now working for Lanton Enterprises, he’s using his military past to try and do some good in the world, even if it means getting his hands dirty. One night, invited to a gala by his boss and friend Thomas Lanton, he comes face to face with Hope, who should have been a ghost from his past.

The chemistry between Hope and Slone is explosive! You get the feeling that they have a lot of work to do on the misunderstandings of their past and that this is reflected in their present story. Who doesn’t love a little spice mixed with anger? Personally, I’m not complaining at all.

I liked the darker aspect of this book compared to the first in the series, Coming Undone, which is just as excellent. I don’t know what Esme Taylor has in store for us in the future, but I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.

Thanks to Esme Taylor for giving me the opportunity to receive an ARC of In Plain Sight. This review is my own. All opinions expressed are mine.
