Swallow Your Pride by Sarah Blue

3.0

I liked this for what it was, and it was interesting enough to finish. While the chemistry between the two characters was there from the jump, this felt very 'you're the first person to show me genuine affection and for that I'm all in, let's get married tomorrow.' The ex-boyfriend professor felt a bit weird to me. And I'm sorry, are we not going to address the whole professor it all?!

With that aside, I do enjoy a romance without a third-act breakup and this one wrapped up nicely. I liked it enough to want to read the next book.

Last thing to add, this was marketed on social media by some people as a toeing the line, almost gray area forbidden romance with the main male character being the business partner of a dead man who had a daughter as a result of a one night stand outside his marriage (resulting in the female main character). It's referenced a couple of times in the book, but they could have left that whole storyline out and it would've been fine. There was enough drama.
