Medusa by Rosie Hewlett

"I have found a small corner of history and claimed it as my own, not as a monster of a victim, but as a survivor, a protector."

✨ no spice but INCREDIBLE retelling! ✨

This was my very first Medusa retelling and holy SHIIII- this DELIVERED. The very first page had me HOOKED.

This retelling is told by Medusa herself from the depths of the underworld, after she's lived her life. She's sick and tired of humans retelling her story incorrectly and painting her life differently than it happened. So, she decides to tell her real story for humans to listen too... the real story.

Honestly, I refuse to believe that Medusa's life was actually different from this book because it made so much freaking sense and added so much depth to the greek myth.

Have I mentioned that I'm literally a hoe for greek mythology? ✨
