Landwhale: On Turning Insults Into Nicknames, Why Body Image Is Hard, and How Diets Can Kiss My Ass by Jes Baker

5.0

*incoherent squeals of glee* I cried so much and laughed so much and enjoyed myself SO MUCH while reading this. Jes really doubles down on vulnerability in this one, as compared to her first book. I loved how it really took her ideas and beliefs to the next level. It made me feel so seen, because she struggles with alot of the things I do, and also experienced body shaming from family members in her youth. It made me feel valid to know that such a goddess of body liberation also has hard days and a difficult past trauma to cope with. I hope to become a fraction as confident in my body as Jes is.
