Review: ππππ π·πππ π¬π π¬ππππ was EVERYTHING!! This book was such a bittersweet goodbye and J. Rose once again obliterated my heart, my mind and my soul with the culmination of Ripleyβs story. The way J. Rose was able to craft the suspense and mystery surrounding the guys and also surrounding Ripley and her time at Harrowdean Manor while also exposing so many details had me riveted right up until the last page and I completely lost it when the final twist of events occurred leading up to her HEA.
ππππ π·πππ π¬π π¬ππππ is DARK. I thought book one was dark but this book took the cake. Ripley and her men are up against the worst of the worst but the family they find in each other provides just enough of a glimpse of light that it pushes them through. The bonds we truly began to see in this book between them all show just how broken each of them was on their own but how they each softened the edges of each otherβs broken piecesβ¦if only minimally. I felt like this was also a HIGE step for Ripley since she is more of a lone wolf and an instigator all throughout the story.
Lennox and Raine truly became my favorite characters in this story. The way these two overcame their trauma to push Ripley into her HEA melted my cold, black heart. I loved how they allowed her to see their darkest parts but also how they broke her walls down alongside Xander to see the scared girl she hid from everyone else. ππππ π·πππ π¬π π¬ππππ had a different vibe compared to the other interconnected books and I really enjoyed the way J. Rose was able to balance all the darkness in the story and within in the characters to show how beautiful the pieces of light in their POVs was.
ππππ π·πππ π¬π π¬ππππ was the finale of the Harrowdean Manor duet and I am still not over the ride it put me on. I would love to continue to see spinoffs and interconnected casts of characters or maybe a novella with all the FMCs causing chaos. This book truly added the spiked cherry on top of the sundae to the crazy dark world J. Rose has created and I can only hope Ripley and her men pop up again!
Rating: 100+,
