About 75% through this book I realized it wasn’t for me. It starts out really nice but somewhere in the middle it loses its flare to me. However that is because i have the attention span of a goldfish with ADHD; thus I prefer books that are fast pace even if the they aren’t necessarily action packed.

I feel like there was no character building for everyone that wasn't the main character and even her character building was really just reiterating things we learned about her from chapter 1 (quite literally). Then again this might be because the book is a commentary fiction; it might be focused on relaying a message rather than character building. I feel like this book is decent for what it is (a cometary on racism in the world of publications) but I feel like it could have been shorter... and there were parts I wish she would have leaned more into... also the twist at the end is cringy to me in how it happens and also somewhat unrealistic but again it was a decent book. If you like fictional commentary I’d definitely suggest it!
