Carrie Soto Is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid

5.0

Taylor Jenkins Reid does it again. A hard hitting book that can appeal to anyone!

Carrie Soto was so fun to read. She's so angry, and I LOVE angry women. TJR consistently writes women who are unapologetic and so self assured. We need more women who are abrasive and gritty, and have no shame associated with those personality traits. Mick Riva is perfectly rivaled in this story by Javier Soto, the near perfect father figure. It was fun reading a father-daughter dynamic.

This book has just as much heart as her other books. Carrie Soto gets the perfect amount of character development and the story gets much bigger than Carrie just defending her titles. My biggest criticism is that this book felt a little more "cookie cutter". There wasn't a lot of new and fresh ideas and was overall fairly predictable.

Regardless, it goes without saying I love TJRs writing, I will read whatever she writes and I absolutely think you should too!
