Lord Leverhulme's Ghosts: Colonial Exploitation in the Congo by Jules Marchal

4.0

3.5, leaning to 4 just because i think its an important document of how liberal beauracracy can play an idle hand in the permitting of capital-fueled atrocities. Far from documenting the torturous conditions, the book documents the failures of govt regulations to stave off the horrors of a market that demands cheap labor at any dehumanizing cost.
