The Dark One by Nikki St. Crowe

5.0

Oh I am having entirely too much fun! This was *chef's kiss*. I couldnt stop thinking about the characters and I devoured this entire book. Winnie is actually a decent main character and I liked the shifting of POVs. Sometimes it did tend to change too much, but those chapters were short lived anyways. I feel like this kind of book needs a different rating scale than other books I read. Because in terms of consumability THIS IS 5 STARS, in terms of true literary criticism- this is probably bordering 2 or 3 stars. Rating this anywhere between 2 and 3 stars would be CRIMINAL though. So 5 stars! I will absolutely be reading the next one in September.
