Whilst I absolutely loved book 1 this one wasn’t quite my favourite, I found myself having to force myself to pick it up and skim reading at the end. I do think it may have been a me issue as I had just come from reading high fantasy, I thought this might break it up for me a bit but it just missed on a couple of things for me.

The premise was brilliant, a serial killer who kills his victims with their deepest fears, as someone who suffers with crippling anxiety this might have been one of the reasons it wasn’t my fav 🤣 and the deaths in this were very detailed and gruesome. I also felt like a lot was based on the characters weight, and that people could only be attractive if they were thin (but again I feel that may be a me insecurity creeping in there!)

I do love Robert Hunter and I will go on to read the third book, as I do want to see where the rest of the series goes, the first 2 were so dark that I would expect nothing else from the next two!
