The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand

3.0

Lots of red herrings, and by the time we got to the whodunnit, I didn't care anymore! I am really pumped to watch the show for this now though, because I feel like it would lend really well on screen. There were a few jarring comments in this that def made me pause, though, like weirdly racist/misogynistic happenings that characters just dismissed because...oh it's Nantucket and this is just how we act/treat people/think here? Big ick there. But I really loved the main character Celeste, and I can't wait to see how they portray her and her family in the show. She, her story, and her feelings just felt so authentic, and I really appreciated that - it was a breath of fresh air in a book full of pompous pricks hahaha.
