Although the story is a good one - that of a woman keeping company with her best friend as the latter is dying of breast cancer and reminiscing about their friendship, the style is somewhat simplistic. Among the group of friends, each character is specific and has her own style, but remains rather superficial. An enjoyable, if sobering, quick read.
