This is one of those books that if you don't understand what it's saying, you are part of the problem. I love stories like that, and I loved this. I'm not even sure how to put the emotions it made me feel and the thoughts it made me think into words. I've heard of N. K. Jemisin before, but this is the first story of hers I've ever read, and I think I chose well.
