Gritty and often raw, entirely captivating story. I enjoyed learning the history of Kyoshi as well as the two avatars that preceded her. The depth of feeling was moving. The political intrigue was interesting and kept me guessing. The tale sets up what will unfold in "Avatar The Last Airbender" TV series. This was a good second book in a wonderful duo that drives deep into the lore of Avatar. I will likely read this again with my kids one day when they are teens.
