Historical fiction is something I have always had a love for. As of late, I seem to be drawn to other reads. But this sounded too good to leave at the store...
To say the least, I am soooo freaking glad that The Last Grand Duchess came home with me!
This novel was such a fantastic read. Absolutely FANTASTIC! It made me think of the Romanov family as just that, a family. That at the end of the day, met a terrible fate that nobody could own up to.
I fell in love with the Grand Duchess Olga. With my whole heart, I wish she had been able to follow her heart.
"If I die, I die with them," she whispered "If I could have lived, it would have been with you."
Damnit, I was sobbing. 😭
This book took my heart.
Actually, it ripped out my heart. Then stomped on it. In the best way possible.
What kind of masochist would take part in such an activity? 🙋🏼♀️ I do believe though, that is something most of us bookworms have in common. If it doesn't make you feel something, was it really worth the time reading it? 🤔
The ending of this book was well done, and it didn't go into unnecessary detail. Actually, it wasn't gruesome at any point in the book. My weak stomach was sure thankful for that. 😆
Overall if you like historical fiction, or just have a interest in the Romanov family this is a MUST READ.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
