Okay, this had the potential of being a quick and entertaining read (listen) but the audiobook IMO brought it down a bunch 🥴

While I think both narrators had amazing voices, I don't think they worked well together, much less in the setting of Sun of a Beach.

I personally found the FMC's voice to be too casual and rushed—like someone venting to their friend in a cafe or something—and the MMC's voice from a different time period... basically old lol but not.

Think... Latinx (modern) Sex in the City vs. an old witch from the Originals, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT VIBES 😭

Again, great voices on their own but not for this.

As for the Sun of a Beach story itself... the enemies to lovers / workplace rivals didn't work for the 11-ish chapters it had and most of the dialogue (if not all) was low-key cringe but that could've been the audiobook performance 🤕

If anything the "romance" should've been hate to love / workplace rivals / insta love vibes... like we haven't seen each other since the "last time" and I hate to like you but loveeee to hate you, ya know? 👀
