Agatha Raisin and the Wellspring of Death by M.C. Beaton

3.0

Agatha is judgy. Agatha is hard on herself. Agatha is desperate. Agatha is surrounded by similarly horrible people. MC Beaton is not politically correct (and really should think carefully about some of her lines!).

Agatha sometimes shows or is shown some decent humanity, and that makes the books both bearable and cosy crime capers that are fairly enjoyable.

This review could apply to every single title in this series. The end.

I generally prefer Hamish MacBeth because he is mostly cantankerous whereas Agatha is mostly mean, but they are much of a muchness really.

Thus ends the vaguest and least helpful review you've ever read.
