Messy Love by Riley Hart
5.0
A sweet addition to a sweet series. We come into this book knowing Danny and having a set up for Jonathan from the end of the last book. The reader comes into it knowing this is going to be a tough road for Jonathan, having been closeted due to a intolerant father and a heavy dose of internalized homophobia.
What I didn’t expect was how positively sweet the evolution of Jonathan and Danny’s relationship was. I expected tons of angst, and while Jonathan had a lot of heavy to deal with on his own, their connection is relatively angst free and refreshing. With our supportive side characters from previous books filling in the cracks, this book was a perfectly rounded simple and lovely love story. And a very well deserved HEA, especially for Jonathan.
