I don't hate this, but i definitely don't love it.

Honestly Joyce just makes me feel stupid as heck because I read his stories and im like 'okay' and then i go to class and Malcolm tells me what it ACTUALLY means and then i feel like a failure as a reader

basically to read joyce you need Malcolm (or any other professor whose studied Joyce for literally 25+ years) to hold your hand the entire time or you're not gonna fuckin get it
