"I won't perpetuate the myth that women are incompetent."
Lessons In Chemistry is more like a lesson in picking an awesome read. And a lesson from debut author Bonnie Garmus of how to cement a writing career from the get-go.
Can you tell I loved this book?
The writing is wry, intelligent, and timeless.
It's at once thoughtful, inspiring, sad and hilarious.
Scientist Elizabeth Zott takes no crap and gives no guff. She's in a "man's world" in the 1950s and 60s, but will tolerate nothing less than living it her way.
She becomes the unwitting star of the cooking show, Supper At Six, which features unconventional and nutritious concoctions based in chemistry.
You've never met a character like Elizabeth Zott, and be assured you won't forget her story.
This book has been the darling of Bookstagram for excellent reason - highly recommended!
