Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay by Elena Ferrante
4.0
The tension in the relationship of Elena and Lina continues….wow. Once again, I feel like when I’m reading this I’m in a whirlwind of different stories and characters. I am really enjoying Ferrante’s explanation and exploration of female friendship in such a sly way. So much of what we’re seeing between these two characters is hidden and as a reader you have to peek behind the curtain to see what’s really going on…idk if that made sense?? but so much happening between these women under the surface. Do I love you? Do I hate you? Am I jealous of you? Being a woman is f*ckin hard. I also feel like if one of them is doing well, the other isn’t and it’s just that in a continuous cycle. I am rooting for them though and feel like at the end of the day, their friendship and love is so special.
