Me thinking that the second book can’t be better than the first: 🤡
But for real, this book was so damn good! I can’t get in too deep of course, since this is the second book of the series but I’ll give very general thoughts.
Of course the characters are amazing - it’s a Sanderson book, what do you expect? Their deep, complex and will do bad things to get what they want. I did have a slight problem with Elend though, because he was acting a bit too good and I was slightly annoyed by that.
The plot is of course is extraordinary, captivating, shocking and so sad….*flashbacks. It really is such a unique story with actual stakes. Like if you into battle, you know that someone’s probably gonna end up dead. The plot was a lot slower than the first book, but at the end of the day, I think it helped create a tension for the inevitable battle.
Overall, I really loved this book and think that it actually might be better than the first, just stick with it, no matter how slow it may feel.
