Madison Square Murders by C.S. Poe

4.0

Solid 4 star that had 5 star potential, really looking forward to the next one

I loved the characters, they're compelling independently and together they have such great chemistry. The actual investigation is well plotted and intriguing even though I'm not a huge mystery person. Overall just very solid.

My only complaint is it feels like the slow burn element was fumbled. It was shaping up so nicely and you could see the trajectory and then it just,,,, gave up and jumped ahead. I was really hoping this would be a true slow burn and I'm disappointed. It was close, but that one thing really bugs me. Let them grow together platonically and as partners more, plus let them grow stronger as individuals and show the positive influence they have on each other before they get romantic. I don't hate how it ended up but it just neared perfection like a comet
