Psyche and Eros by Luna McNamara
Did not finish book. Stopped at 65%.
The characters all felt fairly dry and one note to me. The "feminist" twist just seems to be making Psyche a warrior and simply pointing out the societial inequalities of women exist. It felt very surface level observations, which doesn't work in a story that isn't being market on being as a "strong feminist retelling"
Eros felt dry and boring. Frankly, his romance with Psyche felt like the equivalent of slamming to dolls together.
The language sometimes felt out of place for the setting. Pacing was also so slow while simultaneously covering so much time. For how much time passes, it often feel like a lot of nothing is happening.
Overall, nothing about this book was exciting me. I checked this out from the library and didn't want to power through a book I wasn't feeling and run out too time to read the other books I checked out.
If I had more time before the due date, I probably would of have finished it, since I already made it so far into anyways, and rated it 3 or 3.5 stars. I don't hate it; it's just feel very meh to me in time where that is not what I am looking for.
