FIVE BILLION STARS FOR MS VIOLA DAVIS 🤍

I usually don’t rate memoirs, but I cannot stop raving about this one. it is heads down one of the BEST memoirs I’ve ever read. 

when you look at a successful Oscar, Emmy, and Tony winning actress, their story is practically begging to be told - let alone a Black woman fighting not only against racist stereotypes but at times the entire industry, the entire country, and the entire world. 

I have no words at how blessed I am to read and be inspired by such a raw and real story from start to finish. when you see a celebrity, you automatically assume certain things - and I’m ashamed to admit I had no idea of Viola’s upbringing. educating myself on her journey has made me respect her even more - and her never ending fight for women, especially Black women, everywhere ❤️

she has always been an idol of mine, but now even more so. never stop fighting and dreaming for what you desire, whether it’s a better life or a specific goal!

I can’t wait to go back and read all of my tabbed quotes of hers on a rainy day
