Thick as Thieves: An Aster Valley Novel by Lucy Lennox, Lucy Lennox

5.0

We're talking childhood best friends to lovers with an almost two decade one-sided pining situation. Throw in small town and friends that are like family... I can't think of a book that's more up my street than this one.

To say I cried my eyes out at the end would be an understatement. Julian and Parker were soulmates, and they eventually got it together. Thank goodness.

This story reminded me of one of my favorite romantic quotes: "I love you. I knew it the minute I met you. I'm sorry it took so long for me to catch up. I just got stuck."

This is basically what happened. Julian and Parker have been best friends since they were six. They were in love the entire time, but Parker didn't understand and thought he was straight. Julian was pining HARD the entire time.

When Parker gets left at the altar, Julian and Parker get away and head to Aster Valley. There, there's only one bed, and that's never been a problem... until now.

I loved these characters. I loved how fiercely Parker loved Julian when he caught up to it. I loved how steadfast Jules loved Parker. For always.

This was the squishiest of best friends to lovers stories. Y'all know it's my favorite.
