Did this book live up to the BookTok/Bookstagram hype for me? YES. I was wildly intimidated to start this book after hearing/reading all of the glowing reviews, but I was quickly convinced after receiving the stunning Fairyloot edition.

Quick details & tropes:
⚔️ Romantasy / Fantasy Romance
⚔️ 1st person, single POV (FMC, Freya)
⚔️ Norse mythology
⚔️ Forced proximity
⚔️ Forbidden romance
⚔️ Chosen one
⚔️ Touch her and 💀

I was immediately sucked into the world Danielle L. Jensen crafted in A Fate Inked in Blood—it is easy to grasp along with the magic system. This is the first book I've read by Danielle, and I really enjoyed her immersive writing style.

What did I love most about this book? The phenomenal banter between the FMC and MMC (hello, new book boyfriend), tension, mystery, and betrayal.

My only "critique": Freya's martyr complex made me want to throw the book one too many times, but I devoured it book nonetheless. I will absolutely be continuing this series and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book.
